Related Ross has revealed plans for Village Landing, a 71-acre mixed-use development that aims to create Wellington’s first true walkable town center. The project marks the developer’s first major South Florida expansion beyond West Palm Beach and is designed to bring shopping, dining, entertainment, hospitality, and community spaces into a single pedestrian-oriented destination.

Located in the center of Wellington, Village Landing is planned to include approximately 220,000 square feet of retail, more than 100,000 square feet of restaurant space, a 180-room hotel, and 90,000 square feet of office space. The master plan is organized around six interconnected plazas and green spaces linked by a central main street, village square, and lakefront boardwalk, creating a year-round destination for residents and visitors alike.

The retail program will feature more than 80 shops alongside a curated mix of restaurants, cafés, and waterfront dining concepts. Beyond its commercial offerings, the development is designed to function as a civic gathering place, with programming expected to include farmers markets, seasonal festivals, community events, fitness activities, and family-friendly public spaces. Infrastructure improvements, including roadway and intersection upgrades, are also planned to improve connectivity throughout the surrounding area. Groundbreaking is anticipated later this year.

Village Landing reflects the growing shift toward mixed-use, lifestyle-oriented development across Palm Beach County. As communities continue seeking alternatives to traditional suburban retail centers, developers are increasingly focusing on walkable environments that combine everyday conveniences with public spaces, hospitality, and experiential retail. For Wellington, long recognized for its equestrian heritage, the project represents a significant step toward establishing a more centralized urban core while preserving the character of the surrounding community.
